For those who are suffering from diabetes, they are aware that food plays an important role in its regulation.  This is because if they consume too much starchy foods, it will be converted to sugar during digestion and this will increase the level of sugar in blood.

Even though avocado contains a small amount of carbohydrate, it doesn't interfere with the control of diabetes and is therefore good for consumption.

Studies have showed that Avocado contains a compound called beta-sitosterol. Beta-sitosterol is able to reduce bad cholesterol levels in our system and thus prevents bad cholesterol from destroying our heart.

Avocado also contains mono-unsaturated fats which are heart healthy. Monounsaturated fats helps in regulating cholesterol levels in blood which in turn reduces our risk of developing heart disease.

3 Regulates Blood Pressure
Pear is significantly high in potassium. Potassium helps to regulate the effects of sodium. This is because an increase in the intake of sodium is responsible for an increase in blood pressure.

If you want to bring down your blood pressure or prevent high blood pressure, try making a smoothie with pear or enjoy it with bread or salad.

4 Helps in regulating cholesterol levels in blood
Pear is rich in nutrients that are good for general health and well being. It also contains healthy fats (monounsaturated fats) that help in regulating blood cholesterol levels.

You can add a few slices of pear to your salad, use it in the place of cheese or you can still eat it empty.

Avocado contains chemicals that promote good vision and enhance the overall health of the eye. These chemicals (zeaxanthin and lutein) help in reducing our risk of developing macular degeneration due to ageing.

  1. I didn't know that avocados are a fruit, not a vegetable. Thanks for this informative post on Avocado. You should write more about other fruits also such as Goji Berries, Mangosteen, and Noni which are very less known by people.
